Corona, retirement, flood victims & storytelling café
Three-year anniversary of the new “House of the Diakonie”.
Because of Corona, senior care had to remain closed for over three months. The start took place with a new concept on three days of the week and in accordance with the applicable hygiene rules.
The Tafel reopened on April 2, 2020 after a 14-day Corona interruption with completely new processes and a significantly expanded team of volunteers.
Deacon Thomas Cervenka is retiring, the new employees Silke Müller and Franz Winkler will begin their new tasks in the “House of the Diakonie” in August.
2021:
Investments were made in an aerosol filter system to reduce corona infection. This means senior afternoons can be a little more carefree.
The Eckental table sends a truck full of food to the flood victims and their helpers in the Ahr Valley.
The first cycle of the storytelling café takes place. Educational discussions take place over eight mornings, remembering the different phases of life, joys and sorrows, childhood and growing older.
